The Rathbones Folio Prize 2018 shortlist, announced on 27 March, represents the best of English-language literature from around the world, regardless of genre. A diverse and exciting list of five novels, two memoirs and work of non-fiction, the eight shortlisted books are:

We are excited to be able to let you sample each of the shortlisted books. Starting on 6 April a new book will be released every second day, then you will be able to access all of the books until May.

Set up a free account with The Pigeonhole and you can read the first 10% of each of the books on your PC, tablet or smartphone.

To read on your phone or tablet

Search ‘The Pigeonhole’ in the app store and download the app to your phone. It is easy to set up a free account , then just select ‘Discover’ at the bottom of the page. The Rathbones Folio Prize shortlist will be one of the first options you find.

To read on your PC

Set up an account here. If you have left the book page you can re-find it by clicking on ‘Books’ in the top menu and the Rathbones Folio Prize shortlist will be one of the top few you find on that page.
